CHECKERS is a two-person board game, usually played on an 8 by 8 checker board (same as a chess board) using 12 checkers or “men” per player.
Some checkers variations use larger boards. For example, international draughts (pronounced “drafts”) uses a 10 by 10 board, and Canadian checkers uses a 12 by 12 board with 30 pieces per player. However, the 8 by 8 board is the one you will find most often at online checkers games.
The basic rules of checkers are easy to learn. The object of the game is to capture all of your opponent’s checkers, or to block your opponent from being able to make a move.
Winning is not a question of luck but rather of skill and strategy.
