Advanced Blackjack Strategy – Tips and Tricks

April 9, 2019 By editor

Blackjack might not be a dice game, but it is most definitely a game off odds

Blackjack, as one of the top popular card games found on both land-based and online casino floors globally, is played with the purpose to beat the dealer. In this endeavor, players often make attempts to employ some kind of strategy or another, and ultimately turn a healthy profit.

While beginners and intermediate-level blackjack players are encouraged to stick to the basic tips and tricks, experienced blackjack enthusiasts have their own strategy to boost their bankrolls. Of course, opting out for any such move does not guarantee anything, but considering the precision of the odds and the hand outcomes that experts have calculated based on card deck numbers, some of the tips are definitely worth a try. If you consider yourself an experienced blackjack player, click here and test your skills.

Specific Hand Maneuvers

Knowing when and where, or even if, a specific hand is going to turn up is quite specific for a game that can include as many as 8 decks of cards. Still, not all card combinations are the same, and players tend to focus on those that cannot be solved through simple reasoning. For one, the insurance bet is promoted as the safe game play in blackjack, when in fact it’s a way for the casino to gain edge over the players. The only time to choose insurance is if the dealer has a 10 and there are several cards of same value left in the shoe, or in case you have a blackjack. Another case scenario is the ‘Rule of 45’, making players stand in all cases when the dealer has a 10-value card facing up, and the player has a 16-value hand made up of three cards.

Bet with an Advantage

Having any kind of advantage over the dealer is a plus, and should you have really played long enough to know the game, you should already have developed yours. The place you sit at the half-round table, and the stakes you place on it are ultimately responsible for your game success. For one, most experienced players tend to sit on the Anchor seat – the one at the end of the table – in order to keep track of the cards that have been dealt in previous hands and no longer influence the deck. As for staking advantages, the best thing to do is to try multiple betting strategies during less serious game plays or even mix them up, all with the purpose of finding the best way to go through your bankroll that should result with a return of the investment.

Odds, Odds, Odds

In blackjack, there is hardly a combination of player-dealer hands that hasn’t been accurately converted into a table of odds, and with due right. This game is among the few that has extremely low house edge, with the added potential of reducing it in specific situations. Due to this, experienced players tend to account for the odds of a particular card situation before determining whether to hit, stand or split, assuming that they are keeping tabs of the cards along the way.

The Best Live Blackjack Apps of 2018

January 7, 2019 By editor

Blackjack is by far the most played tabled game in the casinos of Las Vegas and beyond. The game, originating in France, has been around for hundreds of years and offers a low house edge, which skilled players can turn to their advantage.

It’s little wonder, therefore, that the popularity of the game crossed over into the online world when technology allowed us to play on the internet at home, and more lately on our mobile phones.

Now, the online version of blackjack has taken another giant leap forward with the advent of live casino action online. From the comfort of your own home, you can log in, see a real, live blackjack table with a dealer dealing the cards and controlling the action. You, meanwhile, can make bets from your online account, and dictate your moves, such as stand, hit, double down or split.

The action is so like attending a real casino that it’s a wonder anybody goes there anymore!

So, what were the best places to offer live blackjack apps in 2018? To find out more, keep reading or look at one of the bespoke information sites like liveblackjack.org.uk.

What do you need from your live blackjack app?

Before looking for the best apps, you need to understand what makes them good in the first place. Only then can you evaluate one over the other. Here are the key features every good live blackjack app should have:

  • App quality. If you’re used to playing the lavish desktop version of a casino platform, you hope the switch to mobile will be seamless. It should be stable with short loading time.
  • Intuitive game interface. The visuals and gameplay should be simple and exciting, while access to customer support and account information should be easy to find.
  • Game selection. You want an app that has a wide range of game selection regarding betting limits and game variant. This ensures you play what you want to play, at a level that you’re comfortable with.
  • Bonus offers. Good online casinos offer some bonus action, so study first deposit options or bonus formats that reward your loyal gameplay.
  • Payment options. Bigger sites offer more options for making your deposits, and for faster payouts. There’s nothing more frustrating than enjoying a hot streak at the tables and then having to wait to receive your winnings.
  • Security. Your live blackjack app should be secure. All the big sites are licensed, so you know the games are legal and fair, plus you have an independent body to complain to, in the unlikely event you have a problem.

Armed with the above knowledge, here are some of the best live blackjack apps of 2018.

BetVictor

One of the best-known British bookies offers a super casino set-up with a refreshing selection of live blackjack games. The mobile version is slick and easy to use, and there’s a welcome bonus worth around £70, which you’ll have to play through.

There’s a reasonable game selection with plenty of staking options, and with average app store reviews of 4.4, you can be sure other players have enjoyed the experience.

Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes, another old high street favourite, has a live casino app with even better ratings than BetVictor – five stars, no less! The app boasts 60 exclusive live dealers across blackjack, roulette and baccarat games.

A cool novelty is being able to “pin” your favourite dealer. If you’re superstitious and enjoy playing with someone, in particular, this is an excellent innovation.

The app is well designed and fast – perfectly acceptable even if you’re somehow on a 3G mobile reception. And the studio “set design” is immersive.

PokerStars Casino

The world’s biggest and best online poker platform, PokerStars has now produced one of the largest and slickest online casinos. The business’ discerning customers have taken the casino games to heart, trusting the operator, which is fully licensed across multiple territories, including the UK and the Isle of Man.

All of its design, customer service and technical experience has allowed PokerStars to build a top-notch casino with an excellent live dealer offering.

The blackjack tables are super easy to play on, and the delivery is exceptional via the app. Customers can switch between casino and poker play at the touch of a button, making this an excellent choice for many who appreciate the convenience of having money on just one account.

888 Casino

Another trusted name in gaming, 888 Casino offers plenty of live dealer action. The app does not get a rating as high as some of its competitors, but it has recently undergone extensive performance and stability improvements.

The Live Casino lounge claims it has “the most charming dealers under the sun”, although in fairness the dealers across all these platforms are super professional. Some might appear more friendly than others, but you get great service, and they keep the pace of the game moving along nicely.

As you’d expect with 888, you get a wide range of games to play, including many blackjack stake levels. And, if you want to try something else, there’s a huge selection of slots.

Give live blackjack a try

There are other decent live blackjack apps you can try. You can download all of them for free and, if you haven’t already, it’s easy to create and register your account.

All the big sites have swift payment options, so make sure you get whatever bonus you’re entitled to when you make your first deposit.

Enjoy the tables!

History of Card Counting Techniques for Blackjack

December 5, 2018 By editor

Looking to play blackjack and are wondering what cards favor the banker and what favor the player? Do you love playing blackjack? Blackjack is a lot different from other casino games like slot machines and needs well planned out strategies for you to win. Believe it or not, counting cards is one of the easiest ways to increase your probability of winning in a game of blackjack.

But that’s not the only one weapon you have. Blackjack involves a fair deal of strategy. The more well versed you are with the games’ strategy, the higher the probability of you winning a game.

History of Card Counting Techniques for Blackjack

Blackjack first evolved in France and Spain, and involves cards that you had to draw to a certain value or you would go bust. Soon, the 21 game – initially known as Trente-un- became more popular in Europe, as it also required skill than just luck. The ability for players to make decisions was welcome.

The Americans then changed it, replacing the name 21 with Blackjack, and introduced two new game rules – which helped ap layer see the dealers’ upcard before they made the playing decision. Dealers also hit on a 16 or stand on a 17, which they didn’t do before. Soon, states like Nevada legalized house banked blackjack.

Then Edward O Thorp developed a ten count system in the 1900’s, where you started with two numbers in your head, like 16 and 36, and then counted backwards as the card came out, actually dividing your count of remaining “others” by the count of tens remaining. There have been other changes since then as well.

The 5 Most Effective Blackjack Card Counting Strategies

Looking for the right online blackjack strategies? Here are some blackjack strategies that can help you while playing Blackjack. These strategies are tested and are known to work!

It’s Not Just About Luck!

The most popular belief for winning at casinos is that all you require is a stroke of luck. However, you will see the difference while playing Blackjack tournaments. Experts on this version of the game advocate having a strategy in place before playing. However, different variations of the game require different strategies to win.

Basic Tips

No strategy is infallible and hence, you require incorporating amendments (a.k.a. corrections) on the strategy per game, for keeping your playing style different and unpredictable to your co-players and the house as a whole. The following tips however can help you improve your style of playing online Blackjack tournaments.

Paroli System

If you win, the bet amount rises. If you lose, the bet amount reduces. It’s that simple. YIf you play too long, you decide the highest bet amount.

Parlay System

You beging with a lower amount, and progressively go higher. The betting value you get for the win is what you bet on the last one plus the profit. You can win any amount here – there is no maximum.

1-3-2-6 System

The trick is to have the right playing pattern here. At the best, you win around four times in a row.

Martingale System

If you are looking to ear na profit for sure and do not want to take a risk, this is the strategy for you, which invovles you doubling the bet amount each time you make a loss. You will make a small profit sooner than later. Not that great for huge profits, but it works.

Labouchère System

You pick on the sequence of numbers you want here. So, if the number sequence is 1, 3, 7, 2, 3, your bet will be = 1+3 = 4.

It’s simple, you cannot play a game of blackjack and expect to win right away. Unlike slots where you can actually get lucky even if it’s your first time, with blackjack you need practice. You need to prepare well before you sit there to play. After all, good preparation amounts to half the job done in your favor.
Your online blackjack strategy can help you go far. Do you have it in you to make it big?

Tips and Tricks for Playing Blackjack

Known for having the lowest house edge, Blackjack is considered the best game for players.  Players must however know what they are doing before they begin playing.  Blackjack has many rules that make up this game and knowing them could be the key to being a winner. Blackjack is a game of skill and for new Blackjack players sticking to a few tips and tricks will help them to win hands.

Understand the Basics

Knowing the very basics of Blackjack will be the key to getting started.  Players should know when to split, double down or buy insurance (never buy insurance) or when to take a hit.  There are some things players should do and some they should never do.

They should split pairs of Aces and eights and spilt two’s, threes, sixes, sevens and nines (except if the dealer has a 7 or higher).  Players should double down if they have a total of ten (except when the dealer has a ten or Ace).  They should also double down if they have a total of eleven (except if the dealer has an Ace).  If they have 11 or less they should take a hit and if they have between 12 and 16 they should take a hit if the dealer has 7 or higher.  If a player has a hard hand of 17 (or higher) they should not take more hits.  Players that have a soft 17 (or less) or a soft 18 (unless the dealer has 6 or less) should take a hit.

Players should never split pairs of 10’s, Jacks, Queens or Kings and should never buy insurance.  Players should not stick with the dealer rules and never take a hit with a soft 19.

Players that are dealt a pair of eights or Aces should split them, while a pair of 10 value cards is a good hand and players should consider taking the risk.  Sticking to the dealer rules is always a mistake.

Stay Calm and Think Clearly

Blackjack, like Bitcoin betting and all casino games, is also a game of chance, but knowing how to stay calm and sensible is important when playing.  With Blackjack, strategies are important and in order to win this game based on mathematical probabilities players need to be prepared before they begin playing.  They should know the rules inside and out and make use of a good strategy.  It is never good to become emotional when playing casino games and players need to stay calm when things seem bad.  Blackjack strategies are based on the theory of probability and having a good logical maths brain will be a great help when playing Blackjack.

Players do not need to be geniuses to win at Blackjack, but understanding the basic rules will definitely improve their odds.

Set a Budget and Stick to It

Some basic tips to help beginners include managing their money, they should never play with money that has been set aside for other things.  They should decide on an amount before playing and stick to it.  Once that money has been played through they should stop playing immediately.  Players should increase their bet when winning and decrease it if they are losing and never place a large bet if they are on a losing streak.  It is never a good idea to try and recoup losses by placing one large bet.

Why some players swear by progressive betting systems

January 31, 2018 By editor

Progressive Blackjack Betting Systems

A progressive betting system is a kind of strategy that people employ when they play casino gambling games, one of which is blackjack, whereby the amount bet is lowered or raised depending on whether the previous hand was won or lost. There are a number of these types of systems, but they all fall into two general categories:

  1. Positive systems, which have you increasing your bet after you win
  2. Negative systems, whereby you decrease your bet after a loss

Progressive Betting for Blackjack Strategy

Progressive betting is popular with blackjack, but it must be undertaken with care and you need to budget accordingly. Theoretically, the best way to gamble when playing blackjack is to wager more when you win, and less when you lose. In other words, when you are enjoying a winning streak, you slowly keep increasing your wager, as long as your streak continues, and, when you lose, you wager gets decreased back to the minimum. This is the basic rule of a positive progressive blackjack betting system.

How the Positive Progressive Betting System Works

Positive progressive betting systems can be used as casinos and at Australian betting sites, as it is not exactly a strategy for playing. You will make a $10 bet, the minimum, for example, and win back your money. This would make you even, however, not ahead, so your bet would remain at $10. Should you win again, you would increase your bet, to $15, say, and continue in this manner until you lose. When this occurs, you decrease, and go back down to the $10 bet.

Some positive progressive betting systems have you doubling your wager every time you win, as opposed to just increasing it by certain amounts. There are a number of systems around, each with its own stance on what is best, and you should simply find one that works for you.

A Rational System of Money Management

This type of progressive betting system is positive because you increase your wagers when you win. It is a logical method to manage your money, and many online players swear by it.

Negative Progressive Betting Systems

One example of a negative progression betting system is the Martingale, which recommends that you increase your wager when you lose, in order to see your money returned to you when you next win.

The Pros and Cons of Progressive Blackjack Betting Systems

No betting strategy will work consistently, because it both relies on and takes advantage of short-term changes in probability and streaks. They do, however, work well to a degree, as long as the player quits while they’re ahead.

Progressive blackjack betting systems will offer a good player the chance to win more, even if the betting is being done in a flat, or even way. Progressive players increase winnings when they’re ahead, and this usually offsets the consequences of losses being incurred.

Progressive betting systems have been used for hundreds of years, and are most likely to have begun when gambling did. Exploring the rules of these, and experimenting with the different types available, can see players putting away more money when they are used responsibly.
