The Best Live Blackjack Apps of 2018

January 7, 2019 By editor

Blackjack is by far the most played tabled game in the casinos of Las Vegas and beyond. The game, originating in France, has been around for hundreds of years and offers a low house edge, which skilled players can turn to their advantage.

It’s little wonder, therefore, that the popularity of the game crossed over into the online world when technology allowed us to play on the internet at home, and more lately on our mobile phones.

Now, the online version of blackjack has taken another giant leap forward with the advent of live casino action online. From the comfort of your own home, you can log in, see a real, live blackjack table with a dealer dealing the cards and controlling the action. You, meanwhile, can make bets from your online account, and dictate your moves, such as stand, hit, double down or split.

The action is so like attending a real casino that it’s a wonder anybody goes there anymore!

So, what were the best places to offer live blackjack apps in 2018? To find out more, keep reading or look at one of the bespoke information sites like liveblackjack.org.uk.

What do you need from your live blackjack app?

Before looking for the best apps, you need to understand what makes them good in the first place. Only then can you evaluate one over the other. Here are the key features every good live blackjack app should have:

  • App quality. If you’re used to playing the lavish desktop version of a casino platform, you hope the switch to mobile will be seamless. It should be stable with short loading time.
  • Intuitive game interface. The visuals and gameplay should be simple and exciting, while access to customer support and account information should be easy to find.
  • Game selection. You want an app that has a wide range of game selection regarding betting limits and game variant. This ensures you play what you want to play, at a level that you’re comfortable with.
  • Bonus offers. Good online casinos offer some bonus action, so study first deposit options or bonus formats that reward your loyal gameplay.
  • Payment options. Bigger sites offer more options for making your deposits, and for faster payouts. There’s nothing more frustrating than enjoying a hot streak at the tables and then having to wait to receive your winnings.
  • Security. Your live blackjack app should be secure. All the big sites are licensed, so you know the games are legal and fair, plus you have an independent body to complain to, in the unlikely event you have a problem.

Armed with the above knowledge, here are some of the best live blackjack apps of 2018.

BetVictor

One of the best-known British bookies offers a super casino set-up with a refreshing selection of live blackjack games. The mobile version is slick and easy to use, and there’s a welcome bonus worth around £70, which you’ll have to play through.

There’s a reasonable game selection with plenty of staking options, and with average app store reviews of 4.4, you can be sure other players have enjoyed the experience.

Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes, another old high street favourite, has a live casino app with even better ratings than BetVictor – five stars, no less! The app boasts 60 exclusive live dealers across blackjack, roulette and baccarat games.

A cool novelty is being able to “pin” your favourite dealer. If you’re superstitious and enjoy playing with someone, in particular, this is an excellent innovation.

The app is well designed and fast – perfectly acceptable even if you’re somehow on a 3G mobile reception. And the studio “set design” is immersive.

PokerStars Casino

The world’s biggest and best online poker platform, PokerStars has now produced one of the largest and slickest online casinos. The business’ discerning customers have taken the casino games to heart, trusting the operator, which is fully licensed across multiple territories, including the UK and the Isle of Man.

All of its design, customer service and technical experience has allowed PokerStars to build a top-notch casino with an excellent live dealer offering.

The blackjack tables are super easy to play on, and the delivery is exceptional via the app. Customers can switch between casino and poker play at the touch of a button, making this an excellent choice for many who appreciate the convenience of having money on just one account.

888 Casino

Another trusted name in gaming, 888 Casino offers plenty of live dealer action. The app does not get a rating as high as some of its competitors, but it has recently undergone extensive performance and stability improvements.

The Live Casino lounge claims it has “the most charming dealers under the sun”, although in fairness the dealers across all these platforms are super professional. Some might appear more friendly than others, but you get great service, and they keep the pace of the game moving along nicely.

As you’d expect with 888, you get a wide range of games to play, including many blackjack stake levels. And, if you want to try something else, there’s a huge selection of slots.

Give live blackjack a try

There are other decent live blackjack apps you can try. You can download all of them for free and, if you haven’t already, it’s easy to create and register your account.

All the big sites have swift payment options, so make sure you get whatever bonus you’re entitled to when you make your first deposit.

Enjoy the tables!

Infographic: Biggest Payouts in the Casino

December 12, 2018 By editor

Which casino games pay out big?

You wouldn’t be the first gambler to walk into a Las Vegas casino with a pocket full of cash and dreams of winning big. I mean, we’ve all been encouraged by the stories of lucky slot machine spins and winning blackjack hands that have turned punters into instant multimillionaires. But despite these tales, it’s not easy to leave Vegas with more money than you rocked up with.

That’s why we’d always recommend getting clued up on different types of casino games before you take on a Vegas casino. Not only is it a good idea to learn a decent betting strategy, but it helps to know which games pay out more than others if you’ve got your sights set on landing a life-changing cash sum.

Blackjack’s got a history of paying out big. A gambler playing blackjack at the MGM Grand once scoped $20 million on a single winning hand. Granted, not many of us would be staking the level of bets needed to make this win possible. But the game’s low house edge makes it a solid choice for those serious about leaving Vegas a winner.

Roulette’s not a bad shout either. Amongst some of the most notable roulette triumphs on the Las Vegas strip is a $135,000 win at the Plaza Hotel & Casino.

But the real excitement comes with slot machines. There’s no real skill involved in playing slot machines – everything comes down to luck. Many of the machines in Vegas boast jackpots in the seven figures. In fact, a lucky 25-year-old playing at the Excalibur Casino once won a whopping $39.7 million jackpot spinning the famous Mega Moolah machine.

You can find out more about the biggest pay-outs in Las Vegas below. And whichever casino game you end up choosing to play, we wish you the best of luck.

History of Card Counting Techniques for Blackjack

December 5, 2018 By editor

Looking to play blackjack and are wondering what cards favor the banker and what favor the player? Do you love playing blackjack? Blackjack is a lot different from other casino games like slot machines and needs well planned out strategies for you to win. Believe it or not, counting cards is one of the easiest ways to increase your probability of winning in a game of blackjack.

But that’s not the only one weapon you have. Blackjack involves a fair deal of strategy. The more well versed you are with the games’ strategy, the higher the probability of you winning a game.

History of Card Counting Techniques for Blackjack

Blackjack first evolved in France and Spain, and involves cards that you had to draw to a certain value or you would go bust. Soon, the 21 game – initially known as Trente-un- became more popular in Europe, as it also required skill than just luck. The ability for players to make decisions was welcome.

The Americans then changed it, replacing the name 21 with Blackjack, and introduced two new game rules – which helped ap layer see the dealers’ upcard before they made the playing decision. Dealers also hit on a 16 or stand on a 17, which they didn’t do before. Soon, states like Nevada legalized house banked blackjack.

Then Edward O Thorp developed a ten count system in the 1900’s, where you started with two numbers in your head, like 16 and 36, and then counted backwards as the card came out, actually dividing your count of remaining “others” by the count of tens remaining. There have been other changes since then as well.

The 5 Most Effective Blackjack Card Counting Strategies

Looking for the right online blackjack strategies? Here are some blackjack strategies that can help you while playing Blackjack. These strategies are tested and are known to work!

It’s Not Just About Luck!

The most popular belief for winning at casinos is that all you require is a stroke of luck. However, you will see the difference while playing Blackjack tournaments. Experts on this version of the game advocate having a strategy in place before playing. However, different variations of the game require different strategies to win.

Basic Tips

No strategy is infallible and hence, you require incorporating amendments (a.k.a. corrections) on the strategy per game, for keeping your playing style different and unpredictable to your co-players and the house as a whole. The following tips however can help you improve your style of playing online Blackjack tournaments.

Paroli System

If you win, the bet amount rises. If you lose, the bet amount reduces. It’s that simple. YIf you play too long, you decide the highest bet amount.

Parlay System

You beging with a lower amount, and progressively go higher. The betting value you get for the win is what you bet on the last one plus the profit. You can win any amount here – there is no maximum.

1-3-2-6 System

The trick is to have the right playing pattern here. At the best, you win around four times in a row.

Martingale System

If you are looking to ear na profit for sure and do not want to take a risk, this is the strategy for you, which invovles you doubling the bet amount each time you make a loss. You will make a small profit sooner than later. Not that great for huge profits, but it works.

Labouchère System

You pick on the sequence of numbers you want here. So, if the number sequence is 1, 3, 7, 2, 3, your bet will be = 1+3 = 4.

It’s simple, you cannot play a game of blackjack and expect to win right away. Unlike slots where you can actually get lucky even if it’s your first time, with blackjack you need practice. You need to prepare well before you sit there to play. After all, good preparation amounts to half the job done in your favor.
Your online blackjack strategy can help you go far. Do you have it in you to make it big?

Video Poker Strategy Guide

December 5, 2018 By editor

Video poker is one of the most popular kinds of casino games that you can play. There are a lot of different machines with different themes for anyone to enjoy. These games often offer greater chances of winning than other kinds of casino games. Some machines even offer payout percentages over 100%.

It takes time and effort to be a great video poker player. You won’t win every game, but with enough practice and patience, you should be able to win many more times than you lose. Here are a few helpful hints that can help you become more successful:

1. Practice, practice, practice. If you want to be good at anything, you have to put in the work on a regular basis. This also applies to playing video poker. To be a better player, you need to practice whenever you can. This can help you identify patterns and avoid costly mistakes when you’re playing for real money. Just practicing for a few minutes every day or every week can help improve your odds of winning.

2. Learn strategies. Every video poker game has different strategies to master. Knowing how to play your hands correctly is important. Take some time to review the strategies for each game carefully before placing your bet.

3. Know the rules. While each game and each machine can vary, the basic rules for each video poker game are pretty much the same. They are all based on the standard five-card draw poker using a 52-card deck. Examine the cards you are dealt, and decide which cards to keep and which ones to discard before requesting new cards. Your chances of winning greatly depend on the cards you keep and the payout tables for each particular hand for that game.

4. Take your time. The more rushed you are, the more likely you can be to lose. Rushed players are unfocused. There isn’t a time limit in which you have to play your cards. You can take as much time as you’d like. Video poker is something that you can play anytime anywhere. If you’re having a rough patch, it’s okay to step away for a while to take a break. If you’re not winning at a particular machine, you can always go to another machine, especially if you’ve noticed that it hasn’t paid out in a while. Being an alert player can help improve your odds of winning.

5. Know the payouts. Before starting any game, take a few moments to review the payout table. You should choose a game or machine that offers the best payouts possible. When you are placing a maximum bet, you have better chances of winning more money or achieving bonuses than other machines.

6. Don’t just guess. One of the worst poker strategies is guessing. While you may be successful once in a while, you’re taking a great risk by doing so. Take the time to learn strategies for each game that you play and pay close attention to all of the cards that have been dealt. This will not only help you for that particular game, but can also help you win other games as well.

7. Pay attention. Keep an eye out for bonuses and other promotions that can greatly increase your chances of winning or provide larger payouts. You can even ask for bonuses in some instances.

Bonuses are basically free money that you can bet. If you lose, you’re not losing anything out of pocket. If you win, you have more money to walk away with at the end of the day. Who doesn’t like free money?

8. Join a player’s club. Some casinos offer memberships to player’s clubs. These clubs can provide gamers with added opportunities for bonuses, comps and even lowered house advantages in some cases. They can also help with loss rebates for top players. If you’re offered a chance to join a player’s club, read over the benefits carefully. If you’re a frequent player, the benefits can far exceed any membership costs over time.

These are just a few helpful hints to help you win more often at video poker. Smart players take the time to learn the subtle nuances of every machine and every game that they play. Taking the time to know the games and knowing the payout tables can make all the difference between a so-so night and a sensational night of playing video poker.

Strategy Guide for Roulette

December 5, 2018 By editor

Introduction

Thanks to being one of the most historic and popular casino games, it is no surprise that many players have tried to devise systems to bypass the house edge. The problem, of course, is that no matter which variety of the game you choose to play, the odds are always going to be stacked slightly against the player. For this simple reason, the best way to approach roulette is to employ one of avariety of gambling strategies that seek to capitalize on ‘runs’ of good luck and mitigate against incurring severe losses when Lady Luck isn’t in the mood.

In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the most popular roulette strategies and how ambitious players should use them.

Choose Your Roulette Wheel Wisely

Roulette is all about odds. Forget any superstitious notions that there are such things as ‘lucky’ combinations, wheels or worst of all croupiers. So it makes sense wherever possible to always play European versions of the game. These allow a mere 2.7% house edge compared to American wheels featuring the ’00’ running at a 5.3% house advantage. Sure, if you hit a lucky streak the 37-1 return offered in US roulette beats the 36-1 from Europe, but it simply is not worth the increased risk.n Play not so much to win, but to cover/limit your likelihoodof losing or even worse going bust.

The Martingale Roulette Strategy

Nobody is quite sure of the origins of this system – most historians reckon it dates back to 18th century France – but chances are that whoever invented it originally was a terrible gambler! Despite this, it remains probably the most popular roulette strategy going and one that even total novices still today claim to have ‘invented’ as a surefire means of beating the house… eventually.

The Martingale strategy is a straightforward negative flow strategy whereby a player is constantly attempting to chase their losses. For example, say a player loses $10. To recoup their losses, they then stake $20. If that wins, they have broken even and start again with another $10 bet. If that then wins again, they bank a $10 profit and start over.

Sounds like a straightforward strategy, right? Not exactly because it is limited to the player at most ever winning that $10. When a devastating run of reverse results occurs – and they happen more often than most novices are aware – the player will need to stake $20, then $40, $80, $160, $320 – and so on to try and just break even.

Surely if you have the bankroll to be able to cover amounts that can within minutes turn into thousands of dollars being wagered at a time – there is a killer catch. Casinos operate with maximum stake limits on roulette wheels to mitigate for those runs of bad luck. If you hit that ceiling you will be hugely in the hole and all for trying to win a measly$10.

The only way the Martingale system can ever theoretically work over a period of time is on games offering equal odds. Roulette simply does not offer that, and that is why the player will always eventually lose.

The Paroli System

Ever seen the movie The Gambler? If so, then this is the system used by the anti-hero. It is an aggressive, positive gambling system whereby a player attempts to capitalize on a running streak by continually doubling up on their wins. Those who use this method ‘successfully’ tend to limit it to three successive wins before returning to their original stake and banking the profits. For example, this would be from an initial $10 bet wins of $20, $40 and $80, with $70 being banked and then starting again with $10.

When used appropriately this is a far safer method of at least prolonging a session because you are limiting yourself on how much you stake. Despite the objective being to still break even, it does not incur the same devastating risk as the Martingale method even though it is theoretically a much more aggressive (and exciting) way of betting.

To be performed effectively a player must keep their cool and stringently keep to their system. There will, of course, be prolonged periods where the sequences simply do not fall into place. But at least with the Paroli system, you will have a longer period at the table!

Alternative Strategies

We’ve covered the two most popular positive and negative roulette systems but it is worth briefly mentioning a couple of others. These look to specifically manage the odds according to a player’s own style.

Three Column Betting

This involves betting on one of the three number columns (1-12, 13-24 or 25-36) and returns odd of 2/1 with a 31.58% chance of it coming in. That may not sound especially tempting, which is why players often choose to cover themselves by staking on two columns with a 63.2% of winning but at a reduced return. If the player doubles up on their losses in a Martingale system, the odds are much more appealing and with a far lower chance of becoming busted out.

The Bond Strategy

An even more conservative strategy with win odds of 83.7%, this involves a player splitting their investment proportionally between columns. For example, a $100 spread would be $55 on the top numbers, $40 on the middle column, and $5 on zero (assuming playing European style roulette). With such odds stakes really ought to be quite high in order to generate any significant returns, which is why this is popular with plenty of ‘high rollers’.

Individual Numbers

High returns but low odds! Ever wondered why many players haphazardly throw their chips around a table seemingly at random? It isn’t about placing, it is about the numbers being played. These are:

17/1 Split (2 chips) -5.4%
11/1 Street (3 chips) -8.1%
8/1 Corner (4 chips) – 10.8%
5/1 Six Line (6 chips) – 16.2%

Final Thoughts

So there we have an introduction to the principles of roulette strategy! As you’ll see it does help to at least know the odds/risk when settling down to a session at the wheel, and to throw superstition out the door at the same time. Any experienced player will stress that roulette is the ultimate game of chance, and more often than not bizarre patterns and runs will occur. If forced to choose a best, then the Paroli system at least offers a way to make your run last longer – but hey, there’s no guarantee in this game!
